The journey

Offer to residency in five stages

01
Employer leads · Before entry

Verified offer

We check the employer's licence, terms and who pays what before you commit.

Your action: don't resign until the offer is verified
Output: verified employer licence and offer terms
Common risk: committing before who-pays-what is clear
02
Employer leads · Before entry

MOHRE work permit

The employer files the electronic labour contract for permit approval.

Your action: sign the electronic labour contract
Output: MOHRE permit and entry permit (~60-day validity)
Common risk: if already in the UAE, a status change may be needed instead
03
You lead · Before entry

Documents ready

Attestation runs the full legalization chain — the UAE isn't in the Hague system.

Your action: attest documents; nurses start DataFlow and the regulator's exam
Output: legalized documents ready for submission
Common risk: attestation is usually the slowest step
04
You attend · After arrival

Medical & Emirates ID

Done in-country within days of arrival to enrol your Emirates ID.

Your action: attend the medical fitness test and biometrics
Output: Emirates ID enrolment underway
Common risk: employer-side appointment coordination delays
05
Authority issues · After arrival

Residence stamped

The residence visa is issued — commonly ~2–4 weeks end to end from permit, though decisions rest with the authorities.

Your action: collect your stamped residence visa
Output: legal residence and work status
Common risk: processing queues — nothing you can pay to skip

UAE FAQs

Employer & jobs

Can I get a UAE work visa without an employer?

Not the standard one — it's employer-sponsored end to end; self-sponsored exceptions are the Green Visa (degree + skill level + ~AED 15,000/month, or freelance ~AED 360,000/yr) and Golden Visa (investors, specialised talent). A visit visa can convert via status change once you hold a genuine offer.

Costs & payments

Who pays for the visa?

The employer, by law — work permit, medical, Emirates ID and insurance are all employer costs. Anyone asking you to cover them is asking you to break the rules, and we treat it as a disqualifying red flag.

Timelines & process

How fast is it really?

Commonly ~2–4 weeks from permit to stamped residence — the fastest route we handle, though attestation and healthcare licensing are the usual extenders. Estimates, never promises.

Licensing & healthcare

I'm a nurse — what's different for me?

Licensing precedes the visa: DataFlow verification plus your regulator's exam (DHA for Dubai, DOH for Abu Dhabi, MOHAP elsewhere). The UAE has indicated it's moving toward a unified national licensing platform — we confirm the current process at assessment.
